1971 Documentary Credit
Terms & Conditions
Digital Matriarch is a brand of Unboxed Productions Ltd. These terms explain how documentary credits work when you buy from the 1971 Collection. They’re written to be read, not to trip you up. Please have a solicitor glance over before publishing. Last updated 28th July 2026.
The short version
Buy from the 1971 Collection and you help fund a planned documentary about 1971. As a thank‑you, you’re credited. Everyone who buys gets a permanent named place on our online Credits Wall and a collective credit in the film. Spend more and your name moves into the film’s own credits. The detail is below.
1. The credit tiers
Tiers are based on the total value of 1971 Collection items in a single order, before shipping, taxes and duties.
Tiers apply per order and do not add up across separate orders. Your order is credited at the highest tier it reaches.
Thresholds are in GBP. If you shop in another currency, the GBP value of your qualifying 1971 Collection items at the time of your order applies. Thresholds are calculated on the price you pay at checkout for qualifying items, excluding shipping, taxes and duties.
2. Claiming your credit
It’s opt‑in. No name will be published unless permission is given to do so.
After your order, a short form will be emailed asking how the credit should appear: your own name, a chosen name or handle, a dedication to someone else, or anonymously.
You may use your credit to honour someone else, for example “in memory of” a loved one or an ancestor. One name or one dedication is allowed per qualifying order.
Each qualifying order earns one credit entry. If the same name would otherwise appear more than once, entries may be grouped or distinguished at our discretion so the credits stay clear and readable.
If you buy as a gift, the credit belongs to you as the buyer and you choose the credited name, which can be the recipient’s.
Names may be submitted in Bengali or Latin script. They will be reproduced as submitted wherever design, layout and technical production allow.
The deadline to submit your credit name will be confirmed and announced in advance. Until then, names can be submitted at any time. If no name is received by the deadline, the order will be included anonymously as part of the Digital Matriarch Community, with no individual name shown.
The spelling submitted is the spelling used, so please check it carefully. Once the film’s credits are finalised, changes may not be possible.
If the name is a child’s, a parent or guardian must consent before it appears publicly.
3. The documentary
The documentary is planned and in development. It has not yet been produced.
Credits will be honoured if and when the documentary is made. Its concept, format and timeline are still being developed and may change.
No release date is promised, and nothing in these terms guarantees one.
These terms apply to the first Digital Matriarch documentary only. Any future films or productions would be separate.
If the documentary does not go into production, qualifying supporters will still keep their place on the online Credits Wall.
4. The Credits Wall
The Credits Wall is a public page on the Digital Matriarch website. Anyone can see it.
The Wall may change in layout, design or location over time, but a qualifying place on it will remain.
You can ask for your name to be removed from the Wall at any time. A name can only be removed from the film before the film’s credits are finalised.
5. Your data and privacy
The name and details submitted for a credit are used only to create the credit on the Credits Wall and, where applicable, in the film.
Because the Credits Wall is public, any name submitted for it will be visible online.
Submitted credit information will be kept until the film’s credits are finalised, and then handled in line with the Privacy Policy [link], which explains your rights and how to get in touch.
If you ask for a name to be removed from the Wall, it will be taken down from public display, but limited records of the request and the related order may still be kept where needed for legal, compliance or audit purposes, in line with the Privacy Policy.
Consent can be withdrawn and a name removed as described in section 4, subject to the point at which the film’s credits are finalised. This is handled under UK data protection law.
6. Placement
Where a credit is described as “prominent” or in the “end credits,” that describes the type of credit only. It does not guarantee a specific size, style, position, order or length of time on screen. Final placement, presentation and design are at our discretion.
7. Cancellations, refunds and the credits close date
If an order is cancelled, returned or refunded, the associated credit is forfeited and may be removed from the Credits Wall and the film.
Credits for the first documentary will close on a date announced in advance, with at least 30 days’ notice. That date will be announced on the website and by email to 1971 Collection customers where reasonably possible.
Orders placed after the credits close date cannot appear in this film, but the credited name will still be eligible for the online Credits Wall.
8. What this is not
A credit is a thank‑you only. It gives no ownership, rights, royalties, editorial say or approval over the documentary, and it is not a “producer” role in any legal or industry sense.
A credit does not create any contract of employment, partnership or joint venture between you and Digital Matriarch or Unboxed Productions Ltd.
9. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated from time to time, but no update will remove or reduce a credit that has already been earned under the version in force when the qualifying order was placed.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of the country where you live.
These terms are offered by Unboxed Productions Ltd, Address: 30 Durham Road, London, SW20 0TW Company registration number: 16791112. Questions can be sent to support@digitalmatriarch.com.
